The Objects of Mu of Delta Kappa Epsilon are the cultivation of general literature and social culture, the advancement and encouragement of intellectual excellence, the promotion of honorable friendship and useful citizenship, the development of a spirit of tolerance and respect for the rights and views of others, the maintenance of gentlemanly dignity, self-respect, and morality in all circumstances, and the union of stout hearts and kindred interests to secure to merit its due reward.

Mu of Delta Kappa Epsilon is the oldest fraternity at Colgate University. Mu of DKE was founded in Hamilton, New York on March 1, 1856 at what was then Madison University.

Mu of DKE has not had an active undergraduate chapter on Colgate University’s campus since 2005, yet Mu of DKE remains a recognized and growing alumni fraternity that welcomes new brothers every year. We are an active and passionate alumni organization that seeks to continue to connect its members to each other and to Colgate University through shared traditions and ideals. Since 2006, over 250 alumni brothers have joined in the bonds of Mu of DKE.

Members of Mu of DKE may also join DKE International and the DKE Club of NYC, which is housed within the Yale Club of NYC, conveniently located at 50 Vanderbilt Avenue.

Our charitable foundation, the Mu of Delta Kappa Epsilon Foundation, owns and maintains the historic Temple Library (c. 1877) located on Broad Street in Hamilton, New York. In addition, our alumni support Colgate University and the Town of Hamilton.

We are actively working towards re-establishing a recognized undergraduate chapter at Colgate University. We believe undergraduate men should have the opportunity to share in our history, traditions and the Mu experience.
